Actress Glenn Close Visits the Louisiana SPCA

NEW ORLEANS (06/01/08) Academy Award nominee Glenn Close recently visited the Louisiana SPCA shelter, toured the facility and met some of the staff and the many wonderful animals in our care. Close, along with her son-in-law Ben Shaw who runs a dog retail website, www.fetchdog.com, have a great interest in helping animal shelters, and particularly encouraging pet adoptions from shelters. Close's charitable shopping program on FetchDog.com
is designed to benefit animal welfare organizations. FetchDog is a shopping, education and networking resource for dog lovers.

Close also has a blog on fetchdog.com, “Lively Licks,” where she interviews celebrities about their dogs, profiles people who train or work with dogs and answers questions on various animal related topics. The celebrities interviewed also are invited to select a dog-related cause as their designated charity.
