Duties include, but not limited to:cleaning, feeding, watering, and monitoring the animal’s health and behavior. Qualifications: high school diploma or G.E.D., professional appearance, flexibility, ability to multi-task in a FAST-PACED environment, Ability to lift at least 50lbs; should not be allergic to animals, must work with industrial strength cleaners and disinfectants and have the ability to perform all physical tasks.
Full time position; open 7-days-a-week. Starting wage $9/hour and eligible for $10/hour after 30 days probationary period.

The Louisiana SPCA (LA/SPCA) is currently seeking a dedicated person responsible for responding to citizens calls for Animal Protection & Control assistance and assigning requests to Officers on-duty. Additionally the position requires one to Educate the public to be humane pet owners, and promote and support the LA/SPCA’s programs and mission.
Duties and Requirements include:
•Maintain confidentiality regarding all cases.•Assists citizens with interpretation and understanding of animal ordinances , department procedure, & responsible animal ownership•Drive company vehicle as needed.•Responds to telephone calls and emails regarding animal rescue, public safety and the enforcement of animal ordinances•Maintains accurate logs, reports, and statistics of daily activity which will include input and updating call information.•Assigns and dispatches calls to Animal Control Officers and monitors ACO safety while in the field•Monitors and assigns follow-up calls to ACO’s•Team-focused attitude.•Excellent written and oral communication skills including clear telephone speaking voice and ability to relate information to the public and officers in a concise, clear manner.•Excellent organizational skills.•Strong computer skills including basic clerical and data entry skills as well as math skills•Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays•During hurricanes maintain a 24 hr. on call status.•Mental and physical flexibility is a must.

Responsible for managing the daily appointments, retail sales, medical records and invoicing for the Community Clinic programs. Actively promote spay and neuter, educate the public on responsible pet ownership and promote and support the LA/SPCA’s programs and mission.
•Should have 2+ years professional experience in a veterinary clinic, shelter or comparable setting•Ability to report to work as early as 7:00am and end as late as 7:00pm•Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and computer skills•Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment physical and substance screeningThe LA/SPCA Community Clinic is a wellness and high-volume spay/neuter facility that is dedicated to providing basic medical services and accessible spay/neuter surgeries in an effort to reduce pet overpopulation. Full and Part time positions are currently available; candidates must be available to work within the hours of 7am and 6pm, Monday – Friday.
