Fun-tastic Fundraisers
Throughout the year the LA/SPCA coordinates events to raise funds for our daily operations. These events appeal to a wide variety of supporters, and the two we have coming up demonstrate that perfectly.

Held February 20 from 3-5pm, Alegria: The Fashion Show will highlight amazing design, model, and singing talent, including designs from Alegria founder John Delgadillo. The competition is fierce with one top designer taking home a prize package worth $500. Sponsored by W New Orleans, Alegria will also showcase a live performance by New Orleans songstress Mia Borders. To find out more about this fashion forward event or to buy tickets log on to: www.la-spca.org/alegria. Tickets start at $25 and tables are available from $500.

Dog Day Afternoon will be held at City Park in the beautiful month of March this year, but you don't have to be in the neighborhood to participate. Anyone can sign up for the Gatsby Strut, form a team, and start raising funds for the LA/SPCA. On March 27 dogs and their owners will enjoy food, live music, fun contests, and of course the oldest dog/fun walk in the state at City Park. You don't have to be present to win the fabulous fundraising prizes. Sign up now at la-spca.org/dogdayafternoon.

It's A Puppy Party
Join us for our very first Puppy Party! We've had an influx in puppy arrivals at the LA/SPCA Animal Rescue and Care Center, so we are throwing a Puppy Party to find them all forever homes.
Join us February 19 from 10am - 2pm as we showcase all of our puppies on the front lawn of the Animal Rescue and Care Center. We will hold New Puppy Informational sessions every half hour so you can learn all the joys and challenges of bringing home a new puppy. Your family can play with the available puppies and once you've decidedly fallen in love we'll have adoption counselors on hand to complete the paperwork and send you home with a brand new puppy.
Our standard adoption procedures do apply, so if you need landlord permission, or have family members of the two-legged and four-legged kind please bring them along. We will not hold any puppies.
The adoption fee for puppies is $150 which includes spay/neuter, micro chip, vaccinations, two month supply of heartworm medication, one month supply of flea medication, and a bag of dog food (an over $400 value).
Can't adopt now? Sponsor a pet from our Adoptions page.

CEO's Corner

I recently heard that Valentine's Day is all about celebrating 'us.' We want to join in celebrating the 'us' in your life, whether it is a wife, husband, sister, son, or furry friend. Check out our Valentine's eCards. Your recipient will not be the only one feeling the love, the residents at the Animal Rescue and Care Center will be sending you their purrs as well.
On February 14, we, here at the LA/SPCA, will be celebrating the love we experience each day as we care for hundreds of unwanted and homeless pets. We are honored to be their hope for a better tomorrow.

Woofs and Wags,
Ana Zorrilla
