Mr. Rik
It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing away of our lovely cat Mister Rik, who after
battling kidney disease for several months was finally put to rest
after failure of his eyesight. On a count back he was
pushing 15 years of age so all in all pretty good innings, no
fours or sixes but good figures that .....
Rik was a champion mouser and a very lovely little fellah who liked
nothing better than
to curl up on a warm lap or some place soft and warm and meow loudly
for a bit of attention.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1989, Rik moved to Brisbane where he
lost partial site in one eye after being locked in a neighbors
garage for a week while they were on holidays. Then on to Perth and
to our farm in WA before eventually traveling to New Orleans USA,
without complaint.
He will be sorely missed by his two teary eyed parents and
bewildered, if not slightly crazed half-brother, Bluey, sister Josie
and good ole Huck (12 not out).

We've since adopted an LA-SPCA kitten - whom we've named Squeaker -
what a lovely little fellow, to keep the Bluester company and give
