Killian
I
had to put Killian down on April 28, 2008. He was
13 years old in December which is a good long life for an Irish
Setter. I had many pleasurable years with him and enjoyed the love
he showed to everyone he met. I'll never have another dog like him
and I'll never forget him.
I bought him to be a show dog, but that didn't happen, so he became
a therapy dog visiting patients at Ochsner Hospital weekly for 6
years and monthly at nursing homes for even longer (up until
Katrina.) He became my Paws demo dog in 2000 and once trained loved
to show off. It was also nice doing demonstrations with an Irish
since so many people think they are dumb, but he helped changed many
peoples attitudes on that belief! He kept on working and showing off
up until the day he died.
He was a joy to have, to love and is truly missed by his family, but
I know he is romping around with several of my other pups before
him, playing in the shamrocks and I will see him and so many more at
the rainbow bridge one day.
