Heartworm Treatment

We require a consultation prior to treatment of heartworm disease. The price for treatment varies based on the weight of your pet and includes the cost of all medications and antibiotics. There will be a non refundable deposit due at the end of the consultation should you decide to pursue heartworm treatment for your pet. Due to the high cost of heartworm treatment we do have payment plans available that are based on injection dates as well as CareCredit. Our veterinarians will review the payment plans options with you at the time of the consultation. There is currently no heartworm treatment for felines.

For pet owners who adopted a heartworm positive dog from the Louisiana SPCA, we do provide heartworm treatment at NO cost to you. However, we do require that you purchase heartworm prevention.

Consultation: $25

Heartworm treatment:

  • 1-25 lbs: $450 ($200 deposit)
  • 26-75 lbs: $625 ($225 deposit)
  • 75-100 lbs: $750 ($250 deposit)
  • 100-150 lbs: $975 ($325 deposit)

We do offer a discount on heartworm treatments for members of the military, senior citizens, students and pet owners who receive government assistance. Proof must be provided during the consultation prior to approval.
