Make a difference in the lives of animals in our community by getting involved in our programs and events.

Family day of service

The family day of service at the Louisiana SPCA is designed to give families an opportunity to volunteer together. It is a great opportunity to raise animal awareness in little ones in a fun and creative way. Families of up to 5 people will learn more about the Louisiana SPCA and its role in the community, spend some time with our animals, and complete a service activity. Lunch will be provided.

This day of service includes:

  • Introduction to what the Louisiana SPCA is and does
  • Introduction to animal welfare
  • Hands-on time to interact with adoptable animals
  • Craft time to create treats and toys for the animals to enjoy
  • Complete a service activity to benefit the Louisiana SPCA
  • Lunch
  • A Louisiana SPCA T-shirt

This year's Day of Service will be held the day after Thanksgiving as a way for families to give back after giving thanks. An alternative to Black Friday, this will provide your family with an opportunity to give to your community this holiday season. The Family Day of Service is scheduled for Friday, November 23, 2018, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The registration fee is $100 for a family of up to 5 members. Registration fees include lunch, materials, and a t-shirt for each participating family member.
