Ringworm Treatment Team Member

Our small but dedicated Volunteer Ringworm Treatment Team treats animals at the shelter with a spray dip twice a week, and is seeking more volunteers to join this team. This opportunity usually occurs on Wednesdays or Thursdays, and Saturdays or Sundays. The whole process usually takes 1-2 hours.

The name is misleading, but ringworm is not a worm at all. It is a mold-like fungal skin infection, like athlete's foot. It is contagious and a shelter animal with ringworm puts other shelter animals at risk of contracting the infection, but our treatment team takes precatuions to prevent the spread, and to prevent contracting it themselves. We provide gowns, gloves and booties to protect volunteers who help us prevent the spread of this contagious infection.

Transport Driver

We are always looking for individuals with a flexible schedule who are able to help drive our furry friends all over the state and country. Transport volunteers drive our company vehicles and help us to ensure animals all over the state have access to medical care and new homes. Most transport opportunities take place Monday-Friday.

Web Pet and Printed Publication Assistant

Take pictures of the adoptable animals for our Web site, as well as various other outlets; including Craigslist, Gambit Weekly, Petfinder.com. Write descriptions based on personal interaction with pet, feedback from staff and information gained at animal intake.
