Louisiana SPCA Microchip Event 2019

Event Details

In honor of National Check the Chip Day and in light of the recent flooding our community has experienced, the Louisiana SPCA Community Clinic will host a Walk-in Microchip Clinic on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from noon-4 p.m. Pet owners can bring their pet to the Louisiana SPCA Community Clinic and get a microchip for $10. No appointment necessary.

Extreme weather, including flooding, often results in pets being separated from their owners. Pets tend to flee their homes in fear or to find higher ground. Ensuring that your pet has proper identification at all times is one of the best ways to help them find their way back home.

Why Microchip?

Benefits of Microchips

  • 10 million pets are lost or stolen in the US each year, and 1 in 3 pets end up lost at some point in their life.
  • Microchipped pets are over two times more likely to be returned to their owners when lost.
  • Microchips contain info such as animal name and owner and vet info that can help your pet be found more quickly.
  • Microchips are permanent and are not easily lost like ID tags or collars. Plus, any animal can be microchipped!
