Pet Lovers

Here in Louisiana, pets are part of our lives as much as anything else. Let the Louisiana SPCA help you care for your pet!

Resources for Pet Caretakers

The Louisiana SPCA has created several different programs designed to assist struggling pet owners. Our goal is to keep pets in your homes rather than being turned into the Louisiana SPCA or another organization due to financial hardship.

Behavior & Training

The Louisiana SPCA trainers are here to help with all of your behavior and training needs. If you need to teach your pet how to stop certain behaviors or even how to handle fear or aggression, our trainers can help. Click here to view our training resources page and don't hesitate to contact our trainers at

Food Pantry

The Louisiana SPCA Food Pantry helps struggling pet-owners by providing pet food, litter, and other pet-related necessities to families in need. In order to qualify for assistance from the food pantry, pet caretakers must ensure their pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered. If your pet is not spayed/neutered, you are required to have an intact permit for your pet. You can apply for food pantry assistance online, but application alone does not guarantee assistance. Participation is limited based on donations received by the Louisiana SPCA.

If you are interested in donating to the Food Pantry, you can bring unopened packages of pet food, litter and other pet supplies to 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd.

Low-Cost Vet Care

The Louisiana SPCA Community Clinic offers a variety of low-cost wellness services including annual vet care and vaccinations. In some cases, we can even offer free care.

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter

The Louisiana SPCA Community Clinic offers a variety of low cost or even free spay/neuter programs that residents around Louisiana can participate in.
