Ana Zorrilla, CAWA
Chief Executive Officer

Ana has served as CEO of the Louisiana SPCA since November 2007. Prior to becoming CEO, Ana joined the Louisiana SPCA in 2006 as Director of Development. Notably in 2008, Ana led the organization through Hurricane Gustav and the first successful evacuation of companion animals with their pet owners from an American city. In 2012, Ana became the first person in Louisiana (and one of less than 100 professionals in the country) to successfully complete the Certification of Animal Welfare Administrators (CAWA). Ana has served as a panelist on many animal welfare professional conferences including The Humane Society of the United States’ Expo conferences, PetHealth’s CEO Roundtable conferences, The Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA) Management conferences, and the National Federation of Humane Societies Adoption Forum. In September 2014, Zorrilla served as the keynote speaker for the 2014 Chicago PetPoint Summit. Ana has attended the Executive Certification Program in Nonprofit Leadership at the Center for Nonprofit Leadership of George Washington University. She is a Graduate of the 2013-2014 Class of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute. She is also a member of the 2014 Class of Young Leadership Council Role Models. Previously, she has been the recipient of New Orleans Magazine’s People to Watch 2008 and as one of 50 honorees for New Orleans’ City Business’ Women of the Year 2009. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at SAWA, where she also serves on the scholarship committee. Ana has previously served on the Board of the Directors of New Orleans Outreach, The Hispanic Heritage Foundation, the Greater New Orleans Camp Fire USA, and the Summerbridge/Breakthrough National Program. A New Orleans native, Ana graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Secondary Education and went on to receive her Masters in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans.

Charlene Millet
Chief Operating Officer

As a child Charlene always wanted to work with animals and was particularly interested in becoming a veterinarian. Charlene first joined the Louisiana SPCA in 1988, and excluding a 10 year stint as Transportation Manager with Glazer’s Wholesale, has been with the organization for 17 years, working in a variety of roles including Animal Care Supervisor, Humane Law Enforcement Supervisor, Director of Operations, and now serves as Chief Operating Officer. Charlene is particularly interested in the value of data in directing the organization to make the greatest impact possible. She often shares her office with her Dachshund mixes, Paris and London.

Rachel Armentor, CPA
Chief Administrative Officer

Rachel joined the Louisiana SPCA team in 2015. She has worked extensively with non-profit organizations in many different leadership capacities, most recently serving as the Associate Vice President of Finance for The National World War II Museum. Rachel began her career as an auditor at Ernst & Young before moving to non-profit Accounting. She has served on the boards of Young Audiences of Louisiana and The New Orleans Photo Alliance and is a Certified Public Accountant. Rachel is excited to partner her non-profit accounting background with an organization that has such a positive impact on both the lives of animals and our local community.

Dean Howard
Development Director

Dean became connected to the Louisiana SPCA through his fundraising as a founding board member of NOLA City Bark Dog Park. Having previously served as Tipitina’s Music Foundation Development Director, Dean brought years of development and branding experience including credited collaboration of Fats Domino’s fundraising CD, Goin’ Home and post-Katrina fundraising efforts of over $2 million.  Dean is now proud to partner his passion for fundraising with his passion for animals while making a positive impact on the lives of both animals and the community we serve. New Louisiana SPCA fundraising efforts include the Paws to Reflect and 4 Paws Societies, NOLA on Tap and Dine Out 4 Paws events and spearheading of the Paws on Parade public art project and Phase II capital expansion. Dean is a member of several professional organizations including SAWA, AFP and the Greater New Orleans Foundation Development Community of Practice.

Lori Haeuser
Community Outreach Director

Lori’s involvement with the Louisiana SPCA began back in 1997 when she started volunteering at the organization’s Japonica Street location. Two years later, Lori was looking for a change from her position as Major Accounts Rep for Houston Marine and was hired as Special Projects Coordinator with the Louisiana SPCA. She has since held various roles within the organization, including Program Services Manager, and currently serves as Community Outreach Director.  Lori is especially proud to be a part of an organization that not only saves lives but also provides a broad range of services for the Greater New Orleans area. Lori has always had a lot of love for the little dogs and currently has two: Lizzie Dele, a Shih Tzu/Brussels Griffon mix, adopted in March 2012, and Vivian, a Shih Tzu/Poodle mix, adopted in July 2013.

Angelle Fulton
Director of Operations

Angelle, or Jelly as she goes by, began with the Louisiana SPCA shortly after Hurricane Katrina as an Animal Care Attendant. She has held a variety of positions within the Louisiana SPCA including Dispatcher, Adoption Counselor, Animal Care Assistant Supervisor, Animal Care Manager, and now Director of Operations. Jelly was drawn to the organization out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals and currently has two rescue pets; a female lab/Rottweiler mix named Tally, adopted in 2007, and Sebastian, a 1 year old cat.

Greg Hoover, PHR
Human Resource Director

Greg joined the Louisiana SPCA in 2015. After graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Greg spent the next ten years in the hospitality industry, managing such New Orleans’s restaurants as Muriel’s Jackson Square and Begue’s. He holds a Professional in Human Resources certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute. As a child, he mostly grew up with pocket pets, but today he shares his home with Kajun, a 105 lb. chow mix and Louisiana SPCA alum who has been known to greet guests in the adoption center and work with kids at Biztown.

Alicia Haefele, APR
Communications Director

Alicia started with the Louisiana SPCA in March of 2014, bringing with her an extensive history of public relations experience, including most recently serving as e-Commerce and Revenue Optimization Manager for Hampton Inn Hotels & Suites of New Orleans. Alicia holds an Accredited Public Relations (APR) certification, is a board member on the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, a member of the Southern Public Relations Federation and a past speaker at LSU, Loyola and Xavier on public relations topics.  Alicia is passionate about the difference the Louisiana SPCA makes on a daily basis and enjoys her daily interaction with staff and volunteers, who she feels are the true heroes of the organization. Alicia has two rescue pets at home; Gidget, a Boston Terrier/ Chihuahua mix and Cabo, a German Shepherd.

Humane Law Enforcement Supervisor

Justin joined the Louisiana SPCA after moving to New Orleans from Nebraska in 2012. He started his career with us as an Animal Care Attendant before being promoted to a Humane Law Officer a year later. He became the Humane Law Supervisor in 2017. Prior to moving to New Orleans, the University of Nebraska grad volunteered at the Nebraska Humane Society and worked in a private veterinary office. Justin is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the team that is responsible for saving animals in distress and getting them started on a path towards a better quality of life. He enjoys meeting and collaborating with a wide array of animal rescue professionals that are eager to share their knowledge and resources, all with the goal of eliminating animal suffering. When he's not interacting with the animals at our rescue center, he's spending time with his wife, kids and Louisiana SPCA alum Chalupa, who he says is feline royalty!
