Ana Zorrilla, CAWA
Chief Executive Officer

Ana Zorrilla, a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator, has served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Louisiana SPCA since November 2007.  Prior to becoming CEO, Zorrilla joined the Louisiana SPCA in 2006 as Director of Development. Notably in 2008, Zorrilla led the organization through Hurricane Gustav and the first successful evacuation of companion animals with their pet owners from an American city. She is a member of the Board of Directors of The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement (formerly SAWA), and serves on both the Best Practices & Emerging Trends committee, and the Scholarship Action Team committee.

In 2012, Zorrilla became the first person in Louisiana (and one of less than 100 professionals in the country) to successfully complete the Certification of Animal Welfare Administrators (CAWA).  Zorrilla has served as a panelist at several conferences, including HSUS Animal Care Expo, PetHealth’s CEO Roundtable, SAWA’s Management Conference, and keynote speaker at the 2014 PetPoint Summit.  In 2015, she served as a panelist on the 10K Panel: Creating a Culture of Preparedness, commemorating the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Zorrilla has attended the Executive Certification Program in Nonprofit Leadership at the Center for Nonprofit Leadership of George Washington University.  She is a Graduate of the 2013-2014 Class of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute.  She is also a member of the 2014 Class of Young Leadership Council Role Models.  Previously, she has been the recipient of New Orleans Magazine’s People to Watch 2008 and as one of 50 honorees for New Orleans’ City Business’ Women of the Year 2009.

A New Orleans native, Zorrilla graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Secondary Education and went on to receive her Masters in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans.

David Ural
Chief Operating and Financial Officer

David joined the Louisiana SPCA team in 2018 as the Chief Operating and Financial Officer. David is passionate about making a difference in the lives of the animals the Louisiana SPCA impacts each year and brings with him an extensive history of proven results. Previously the Operations Manager for DOW Electronics, David has 17 years of knowledge in managing the day-to-day operations of multiple distribution centers and aided the acquisition of Eagle Distributors by DOW Electronics. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from LSU. David is an avid outdoorsman and a father of two. Pictured with David is Laverne, his Sheltie. Laverne crossed the rainbow bridge in September 2018 and received her end-of-life care at the Louisana SPCA Community Clinic.

Aileen Nethery

Human Resources Director

Aileen, passionate about animal welfare, serves the Louisiana SPCA as the Human Resources Director, bringing over 30 years of HR, leadership and organizational development experience to the staff of the LA/SPCA. Prior to becoming a staff member, Aileen joined the Louisiana SPCA Board in 2017 while serving as the Manager of Leadership Development overseeing Entergy's Enterprise Leadership Programs. Aileen, originally from Scotland, graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Caledonian University in Glasgow, Scotland, and is a Graduate Member of the Institute of Personnel & Development (UK) and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). In addition to serving on the board, Aileen also volunteers with the Louisiana SPCA where she shares her passion, energy and expertise with both the staff and animals of the organization.

Jessica Lovelady
Community Clinic Director

Jessica started her career in the veterinary field at a private practive in 2012. With a BS in Psychology from Viriginia Tech, she has been a receptionist, a veterinary assistant, and veterinary technician. In December of 2015, Jessica joined the Louisiana SPCA Community Clinic team as the Wellness Services Supervisor. In December of 2016 Jessica became the Clinic Manager and then in June of 2017, she was named the Community Clinic Director. Jessica has overseen the growth of our Community Clinic over the past three and a half years. Improvements Jessica has overseen includes the addition of a comprehensive dental program, improvement of diagnostic capabilities to better serve our community, and an increase in the number of annual spay and neuter surgeries performed - in 2018, the Clinic performed just under 10,000 surgeries. Jessica has three wonderful canine fur babies of her own. Nolan is an alumni of the LA/SPCA, Monkey was found wandering the streets of New Orleans, and Bessie is her foster fail that accompanies Jessica to work every day!

Amelie LeBreton
Devlopment Director

Amelie joined the Louisiana SPCA team in 2019 as the Development Director. Amelie brings over 10 years of experience raising support from individuals and foundations, engaging fundraising volunteers and developing new donor engagement strategies. As a native New Orleanian, Amelie is passionate about animal welfare and shares in the Louisiana SPCA’s vision for providing care to those most vulnerable in our community.

Alicia Haefele Vial, APR
Communications Director

Alicia joined the Louisiana SPCA team in March of 2014, bringing with her an extensive history of public relations experience, including most recently serving as e-Commerce and Revenue Optimization Manager for Hampton Inn Hotels & Suites of New Orleans. Alicia holds an Accredited Public Relations (APR) certification, certification in crisis communications and organization leadership from The Association of Animal Welfare Professionals, is a board member on the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, a member of the Southern Public Relations Federation and a frequent speaker at local universities. Alicia is passionate about the difference the Louisiana SPCA makes on a daily basis and looks forward her daily interaction with team and volunteers, who she feels are the true heroes of the organization. At home she has three rescue pets ; Gidget, a Boston Terrier/ Chihuahua mix, a cat named Salazar and a Great Dane named Scooby.
