Ana Zorrilla, CAWA
Chief Executive Officer

Ana Zorrilla, a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator, has served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Louisiana SPCA since November 2007.  Prior to becoming CEO, Zorrilla joined the Louisiana SPCA in 2006 as Director of Development. Notably in 2008, Zorrilla led the organization through Hurricane Gustav and the first successful evacuation of companion animals with their pet owners from an American city.

In 2012, Zorrilla became the first person in Louisiana (and one of less than 100 professionals in the country) to successfully complete the Certification of Animal Welfare Administrators (CAWA).  Zorrilla has served as a panelist on many animal welfare professional conferences including The Humane Society of the United States’ Expo conferences, PetHealth’s CEO Roundtable conferences, The Society of Animal Welfare Administrators Management conferences, and the National Federation of Humane Societies Adoption Forum. In September 2014, Zorrilla served as the keynote speaker for the 2014 Chicago PetPoint Summit. 

Zorrilla has attended the Executive Certification Program in Nonprofit Leadership at the Center for Nonprofit Leadership of George Washington University.  She is a Graduate of the 2013-2014 Class of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute.  She is also a member of the 2014 Class of Young Leadership Council Role Models.  Previously, she has been the recipient of New Orleans Magazine’s People to Watch 2008 and as one of 50 honorees for New Orleans’ City Business’ Women of the Year 2009.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA), where she also serves on SAWA’s scholarship committee.

Zorrilla has previously served on the Board of the Directors of New Orleans Outreach, The Hispanic Heritage Foundation, the Greater New Orleans Camp Fire USA, and the Summerbridge/Breakthrough National Program.

A New Orleans native, Zorrilla graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Secondary Education and went on to receive her Masters in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans.

David Ural
Chief Operating and Financial Officer

David joined the Louisiana SPCA team in 2018 as the Chief Operating and Financial Officer. David is passionate about making a difference in the lives of the 59,000 animals the Louisiana SPCA impacts each year and brings with him an extensive history of proven results. Previously the Operations Manager for DOW Electronics, David has 17 years of knowledge in managing the day-to-day operations of multiple distribution centers and aided the acquisition of Eagle Distributors by DOW Electronics. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from LSU. David is an avid outdoorsman and a father of two. Pictured with David is Laverne, his Sheltie. Laverne crossed the rainbow bridge in September 2018 and received her end-of-life care at the Louisana SPCA Community Clinic.

Angelle Fulton
Director of Operations

Angelle, or Jelly as she goes by, began with the Louisiana SPCA shortly after Hurricane Katrina as an Animal Care Attendant. She has held a variety of positions within the Louisiana SPCA including Dispatcher, Adoption Counselor, Animal Care Assistant Supervisor, Animal Care Manager, and now Director of Operations. Jelly was drawn to the organization out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals and currently has two rescue pets; a female lab/Rottweiler mix named Tally, adopted in 2007, and Sebastian, a 1 year old cat.

Aileen Nethery

Human Resources Director

Aileen, passionate about animal welfare, serves the Louisiana SPCA as the Human Resources Director, bringing over 30 years of HR, leadership and organizational development experience to the staff of the LA/SPCA. Prior to becoming a staff member, Aileen joined the Louisiana SPCA Board in 2017 while serving as the Manager of Leadership Development overseeing Entergy's Enterprise Leadership Programs. Aileen, originally from Scotland, graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Caledonian University in Glasgow, Scotland, and is a Graduate Member of the Institute of Personnel & Development (UK) and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). In addition to serving on the board, Aileen also volunteers with the Louisiana SPCA where she shares her passion, energy and expertise with both the staff and animals of the organization.

Community Clinic Director

Jessica Lovelady currently serves as Director of the award-winning Louisiana SPCA Community Clinic. Her dog, Bessie, came from the Louisiana SPCA and loves milkbones and head scratches.

Alicia Haefele Vial, APR
Communications Director

Alicia started with the Louisiana SPCA in March of 2014, bringing with her an extensive history of public relations experience, including most recently serving as e-Commerce and Revenue Optimization Manager for Hampton Inn Hotels & Suites of New Orleans. Alicia holds an Accredited Public Relations (APR) certification, is a board member on the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, a member of the Southern Public Relations Federation and a past speaker at LSU, Loyola and Xavier on public relations topics.  Alicia is passionate about the difference the Louisiana SPCA makes on a daily basis and enjoys her daily interaction with staff and volunteers, who she feels are the true heroes of the organization. Alicia has two rescue pets at home; Gidget, a Boston Terrier/ Chihuahua mix, and a cat named Salazar.
