Youth Programs

Humane Education

Humane education reinforces character development skills such as kindness, compassion, empathy and responsibility. From caring for the family pet to taking action to prevent animal suffering, students become active participants in helping animals and others at an early age. Enhancing a student's understanding that animals are living, feeling beings to be treated with respect and compassion is a very important lesson in empathy and respect for others.

The Louisiana SPCA offers a variety of humane education and youth programming opportunities for children of all ages. Find information below on our youth education opportunities with the animals!

Check out our 2019 Kids Activity Guide for a quick overview of our programs.
